Rashid Attar leads Qualcomm’s DataCenter Engineering team, building purpose-built compute and inference silicon, complete rack-scale systems including networking fabrics, and the software stack.

Qualcomm has spent decades delivering the most power-efficient compute in the world, shipping in billions of devices. Rashid’s team is carrying that DNA into the datacenter, where performance-per-watt and total cost of ownership are paramount. The team is engineering across the full stack: Silicon, Systems, and Software.

Earlier in his career, Rashid was part of the team that helped build the technologies that became the foundation of Smartphones — EV-DO — work that scaled high speed wireless data to billions of people. Leading Qualcomm’s datacenter engineering effort bears a likeness: taking a hard systems problem and building silicon, systems, and software at scale.
