Executive Vice President and Chief Customer Officer

David Bennett is the Chief Customer Officer (CCO) of Tenstorrent Inc., a unicorn start-up that builds world-class AI, Machine Learning, and RISC-V technology. Since joining Tenstorrent in June of 2022, David has already led Tenstorrent to major deals with some of the largest electronic and automotive manufacturers in the world. David has over 15 years of executive leadership experience in the technology industry across multiple geographies in critical global and regional roles.

Prior to Tenstorrent, David was CEO of NEC Personal Computers, President and representative director of Lenovo Japan, and a vice president at Lenovo Group where he led all aspects of Lenovo Japan and NEC’s operations, growth, and profitability to build NEC into an important profit center for Lenovo. He is also a visiting lecturer at Yamagata University and a Member of the Board of Sanrio Company Ltd (The Hello Kitty Company), a $2B global company with some of the most recognized IP in the world.

Before joining NEC/Lenovo, David was AMD’s Corporate Vice President and GM of OEM Accounts Worldwide responsible for AMD’s consumer, commercial, graphics, and enterprise business world-wide. Before that, he was Mega Region Vice President for the Asia Pacific and Japan region, worldwide Sales GM for HP and Lenovo, and GM of AMD’s Canadian business.

Businesses under David’s leadership deliver consistent quarter-over-quarter (QoQ) growth across all four primary metrics: share, consumption, revenue, and gross margin. He has been integral in winning some of the largest tenders in the world, including Japan’s Education GIGA deal (4.2Mu) and India’s first Mega Deals (1.5Mu). He has a consistent track record of delivering business growth and internal/external CX.

David is passionate about workstyle innovation, education, partnering with telco carriers, and gaming PC momentum in Japan. David also provides deep insight into globalization and cultural diversity through his column on Toyo Keizai online. David was named as a visiting professor at Yamagata University in December 2018.

He is an active angel investor in multiple companies and holds various board and advisory positions.

David started his career in consulting in Tokyo, Japan. He is a University of Toronto, Canada graduate who has attended Waseda University and Gakushuin Women’s College as a MEXT National Scholar in Tokyo, Japan.
